Dear Brother Nting,
I imagine that your post herein is informed by Romans 13.
If yes, then you are now a victim of one the misconstruction of this Chapter.
In fact, Romans 13 is another of those totally misunderstood chapters of the Bible.
This Chapter was Adolf Hitler's best Chapter in the Bible. he used it to murder all those who criticised him, after all, the man claimed that the Bible said that we must respect all those in authority.
The Holy Scriptures says no such thing and Apostle Paul in here was not talking about the respect for worldly authority but he was rather talking about the respect of authority in the BODY of Christ - the CHURCH!
I once had a Camerounse gendarme quote this Scripture to me word for word, because, as he said, they were taught Romans 13 in the training centre and here was this Ntemfac Ofege despising the Holy Scriptures by writing Gaulist Africa with Paul Biya as the target.
Let us look at it closely, shall we?. You can only understand Romans 13 by starting with Romans 12 which flows nicely into 13.
Romans 12: 1-2.
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Note that Apostle paul admonishes us herein NOT TO BE CONFORMED to the WORLD! BE NOT CONFORMED means to REJECT - REJECT in a militant way!I imagine that your post herein is informed by Romans 13.

This continues until Chapter 13 where the misunderstanding begins.
5 Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.
The Higher POWERS herein, has nothing to do with world governments. The Apostle is talking about the FIVE-fold Ministry of Ephesians 4:11 - Apostles+Prophets+Evangelists+Pastors+Teachers.
The wielder of the SWORD is not the gendarme with a GUN but the Deacon and Deaconess who have the authority to adjudicate - put ORDER - in the Body of Christ or the Church!
Apostle Paul could not possibly be asking Christians to CONDONE fraud and corruption. Rather he ask us to REJECT these things MILITANTLY by not being CONFORMED to them!
To be continued.
