Job Title: Hadoop/Hive Technology Architect
Location: Cupertino CA
Duration: 6 months Contract
Qualifications Basic:
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required. Will also consider one year of relevant work experience in lieu of every year of education
- 8+ years experience with Hadoop/Hive
Preferred:
- The successful candidate should have 8+ years experience in large-scale software development, with at least 2-3 years in Hadoop
- Demonstrate analytical and problem solving skills, particularly those that apply to a "Big Data" environment
- Deep understanding and related experience with Hadoop stack - internals, HBase, Hive, Pig and Map/Reduce
- Deep understanding of schedulers, workload management, availability, scalability and distributed data platforms
- Extensive experience building and designing large-scale distributed applications
- Expert knowledge developing and debugging in Java/J2EE
- Proven experience in Object Oriented Design and Development
- Sound knowledge of Relational Databases (RDBMS), SQL & No-SQL databases
- Experience with agile/scrum methodologies to iterate quickly on product changes, developing user stories and working through backlogs
