RE: [ACEsthetics] Maintenance of Hybrids

I never have understood” as needed”…..how can you tell when a screw needs changing?

i like to see them twice per year, just like someone with teeth... do a cleaning and check for problems.... do xrays once per year... remove and replace screws as needed... but not very often

so, during a consultation, what do we tell them as far as maintenance?  come in once per year for irrigation/cleaning/exam?  replace screws as needed, usually every 3-5 years?

I ask because I think I am letting these patients fall thru the cracks.  we aren't pushing for a recare protocol, like we do with normal hygiene patients.

When we perceive that they need attention. It is time consuming and
expensive.  My early ones were on Nobel implants.  They charge over
$100 per screw.  It takes me an hour per arch to remove and replace.

I change the screws every time.  I charge $1K per arch.  We don't do it
every year.  We design so that the patient can get hydrofloss with
Dakins solution under the prosthesis.  The lower is high water.

John,

How often would you change screws on these?  Everytime?  Every other?

How often are you guys removing these?  In the past, I have just done
once a year.  I have a patient that has upper and lower hybrids, one
with 6 implants and the other with 8.  The patient previously had
removable dentures with a bar and we switched it over to hybrids.  How
much do you charge for something like this.  I have 14 implants sites
on the denture that I have to cut the composite out of, remove the
dentures and then put everything back.  Not sure what to charge for
this (I know what I want to charge for this).
