Dear Sir
I respect your experience and wisdom, but being the kind of the person i am , i tend to disagree. Why should one not pursue his/her Ph.D in management?
Taking forward the example that you had given, what are the GUIDE's Doing?
I mean is the guide unaware about the calibre of the student? Or is the guide doing his duty for the skae of doing it?
Are the guides influencing the decision about the topics selected?
Are they misleading the candidate??
Kindly address these questions and then we may come to the conclusion...
regards
Maanish Chava

Dear Dr Vishnu,You have hit the nail on the head. What we need is interdisciplinary approach in researches. Most Ph D scholars end up having a tunnel vision. They get carried away by the volume of work involved in research and get totally disoriented sometimes. In a recent interview, a Ph D in Economics could not explain what FDI stands for (FDI in Retail etc) . God save the Management Education from such PhDsProf LP RajanOn Thu, 23 May 2013 22:35:37 +0530 wrote>Respected Professors/Academicians,......
