Re: [MTC Global] Don’t ever attempt to do Ph.D. in Business Management if you satisfy all or any one of the following conditions.

Dear Sir,

In deed, although, these instructions could serve as eight important commandments to research scholars. It seems, there is lot of discussion here around these points which appears to be little lopsided (sorry for being discourteous).

Though I am not a PhD guy, I shall opine that research is although an individual effort, in deed, is a process that revolves round scholar, guide and University. It is not that scholar alone is the object of blame but also guide and institution. In fact, it is the guides who sweepstakes more responsibility than the scholar, I believe.

Are there not guides who doesn't know about research? I personally know a person who did double PhD (PDF from France) who hates analytical tools and never proscribe statistics to his scholars for he personally dislike statistics (perhaps and he dislikes might be due to his difficulty to understand them). There is the other man (sorry Dr.) who openly say to his scholars that he is not aware of any methods, but he could sign provided somebody guide him. There are several such examples which are, in fact, known to everyone of us.

How many Universities have right guides who possess sufficient research stamina? There are umpteen number of scholars that are suffering due to certain vagaries of few guides. One of my friends, who were pursuing his PhD in USA, had to cancel his study since his guide doesn't like his theme.........

Hence, In my opinion (only opinion) these instructions also applies to guides besides scholars! or if there are different instructions please let us know!

Regards,

1.       You don't know what topic you should do your research on;

2.       You have not read  30-40 research articles till now, and you cannot distinguish between an ordinary article and a research articles;

3.       You don't know what comprises literature review;

4.       After reading 50 research articles also, you have not got an idea about research gaps, and likely hypotheses;

5.       You did not get an idea about what a hypothesis means;

6.       You don't have an idea about published valid scales and measures;

7.       You don't know the calculation of descriptive  statistics, chi-square, t-test, anova, correlation, regression coefficients;

8.       You are under the impression that Ph.D. is about writing a voluminous book with a lot of distantly related material.
