Dear All.

1340 years ago, the birth of Bede the Venerable, Doctor of the Church, was recorded. Every year since Saint Bede's College, Ashing, Kom, was opened, we remember the feast day of our patron saint on May 25th.

In Yaoundé, our Chapter chooses to worship in one of the Churches where at least a Sabesa member worships. We have been in the Saint Joseph's Anglophone Church in Mvog Ada, the SS. Peter and Paul Church in Simbock; we have also been in the Cameroon Baptist Church In Etoug-Ebe.

This year, today, May 26, we joined the parishioners of the Saint Francis Xavier Parish, EMIA-Yaoundé. As we are wont to do on these occasions, we took the singing of the Mass from start to finish. And we end with a rendition of the college hymn. This drew sustained applause from the parishioners. We were dressed in GJ2013 t-shirts over black skirts for the ladies and trousers for the gents. The t-shirts were in the colours of the houses: St. John, St. Rosa, St. Charles and St. Martin... You do remember the house colours, hopefully!

Our Chapter chair used the occasion to do some brisk salesmanship for our GJ2013 Event. He further invited the parents to send their off-spring who have just finished primary school to Ashing.

When it was all over, we held our monthly meeting which had exceptionally been moved from the usual second Sunday of the month. We had a good lunch which we washed down with some drinks. Next month's meeting will hold as usual, and will be hosted by the Class of 1986.

If you did remember the Feast Day of our Patron Saint yesterday or today, we would be happy to hear from you.

Happy Saint Bede Feast Day!

Sincere regards.
