Dear everyone,
There was a bomb attack in a Catholic Church at Bureka Arusha Tanzania  today 5 May 2013 almost a kilometre from where I was at the time.  Two persons died on the spot and several others severely wounded. The wounded are struggling for their lives at the Meru Hospital and other health facilities around town. The death toll could increase.
Senior Church authorities in Tanzania were supposed to consecrate the new church which was bombed by terrorists,  Arch Bishop Lebulu and other senior church authorities were not yet at the Church when the bomb went off.
I was not present and I have received no news of any of our compatriots being present or affected. I visited the site about an hour ago and found an impressive presence of Police, the Military and Special agents. There were thousands of people present, many who turned up for the great religious ceremony.   But the cowardly act has not dampened  their faith in God. If anything, by the zeal and faith  many expressed, I am so sure that the devil has once more been put to shame. It would have been a blood bath had the bomb gone off  when the occasion  commenced.  God forbid!
So far, no one or organization has claimed responsibility for this cowardly act. However Al Khadah and Al Shabbah terrorist organisations are active in the Subregion and have claimed responsibility for similar attacks in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
The very vigilant and efficient Tanzanian Police have effected some arrests and swift investigations are on going.
But for the appeals proceedings in the Military II which are starting tomorrow and which I am a lead counsel, who knows?, considering  the proximity of the occasion to where I live.
Therefore, my dear friends, God is good all the time. The devil and his agents may violate the sanctity of human life for what soever purpose. But God will forever have the first and last word.
Let us all pray for a peaceful and better world for our own generation and posterity. Amen.
 Chief Charles A.Taku,
In Sakina, Arusha Tanzania.
