Re: [MTC Global] ODL program taken away from IGNOU and given to UGC

I do not think so, as ODL and campus progarms address two different markets, though there could be a small overlap, However, Online programs , as and when they reach a mature stge ,could be a threat to the conventional Distance Learning programs. 
 
Earlier there was an anamoly / conflict of interest ,when DEC was under IGNOU , as IGNOU itself was an ODL provider.
Now , that anamoly is sought to be removed ,as all ODLs ( incdg IGNOU) are under UGC.

UGC officials have stated that "Shifting of DEC from IGNOU to UGC is a good move in the interest of open distance learning programme in the country.
