Position Title: Senior Abinitio/ETL Developer
Location: Dallas, TX
Required Knowledge:
§ Expert knowledge of SQL and relational database systems, preferably within a web applications environment
§ Strong understanding of performance and scalability considerations when building applications
§ Conceptual understanding of object oriented programming and application development languages such as Java, C#, and .Net
Experience Required:
§ 5 or more years experience in system development for the sourcing of data into a data warehouse.
§ 5 or more years ETL experience using AbInitio.
§ Effectively articulates technical considerations with the business, architect, fellow developers, QA and management.
§ Experience with agile software development methodologies and Scrum teams (preferred).
§ Experience with XML (preferred).
§ Experience with .Net and C# (preferred).
§ Experience with SSIS (preferred).
Key Responsibilities
§ Performing analysis, design, development and implementation of new ETL requirements and providing estimates to support timelines and deliverables.
§ Sourcing the data from the operational systems.
§ Designing generic reusable components.
§ Code solutions with a mindset to conserve resources – cpu, memory, batch processing window.
§ Deliver solutions that leverage automated testing and are self-monitoring.
§ Ownership in the delivery of solutions from development through production.
§ Code reviews by/for peers, ownership of the quality that is being delivered
§ Providing accurate high level and detailed effort estimates, scope programming efforts
§ Performs adhoc analyses as required
§ Discussion of design considerations with team members obtaining complete knowledge of the physical database schema.
§ Explaining constraints and design factors to non technical audience.
§ Performing in an agile environment, delivery of business functionality every two weeks.
§ Assisting junior developers to expand their skills.
§ Following and enhancing data standards and best practices across the team.
§ Work closely with Product Managers, Developers, and Quality Assurance Engineers to design, build and maintain:
o Database schemas that are scalable and performant
o Efficient ETL solutions to provide data to 3rd parties
o Replication strategies to keep databases in sync
§ Monitor running database applications to find performance or scalability problems and recommend solutions.
§ Work with the operations team to troubleshoot production issues.
§ Database performance tuning and schema review.
Position Title: Senior Developer – OWB ETL
Location: Dallas, TX
· 5+ yrs of PL/SQL development background
· 2+ yrs of data-warehousing/ETL development background with OWB (Oracle warehouse builder)
· 2+ yrs of work experience with MDM (Master Data Management) systems
· 2+ yrs of work experience with SQL performance tuning
· Good understanding and prior work experience around flat-file export/outbound processing
· Good understanding of UNIX shell scripting
