Re: [MTC Global] Is there value correction in MBA program?

i dont think that students are moving back to traditional courses..they are disillusioned even there.

If it was not so...after 10-15 times the registration for any number of seats for any course of graduate level....the first cut off wouldnt have filled 40% seats or less.

In my city this exactly what happened. ....

the candidates just disappeared...

we can argue that Meerut is close to delhi...may be that is why the first cutoff might not have born result....

but this cannot be the only reason...

thanks and regards

Dear Sir, The article is a commentary on the current state of MBA education in
India. The core of the MBA curriculum rests upon the belief that it is more
important in an economy to get things done by others rather than doing it
yourself. In the education itself, the vision imparted is one of how to analyze a
situation, how to create strategies, how to develop plans, and how to implement
plans and make decisions: all within the framework of the organization and the
team.
This is fine so long as work is being done in a disorderly, unplanned and
uncoordinated manner as an economic activity of either production or selling is
concerned. The contribution of this brainwork becomes very substantial when there
is an upsurge of activity. In terms of the employment of managers, the ratio is
better now than earlier. The norm in labor intensive industries was 1: 20 or even
1; 40. Now the situation may demand a ratio of 1: 4 as smaller teams have become
the norm.

In a situation of a slowdown in economic activity, the surfeit of managers may in
fact worsen the situation due to the sheer shortage of the kind of work that an
MBA is ready to do.And more and more managers may face unemployment.( They are the
first to go!!)

In an economic slowdown, the only activity which thrives is Crime in its multitude
of manifestation as work is directed to gain wealth and power at the cost to a
large mass of unemployed and idle youth. MBAs drawn into this vortex will make
Crime, a growing industry just in the same way that they foster creation of
wealth. Witness to this phenomenon is the escalation of scams of huge magnitude,
along with it the rise of Organized terror networks, Organized traffic of drugs,
contraband and Smuggling, banditry and piracy of all kinds, encroachment and gang
rivalries.

This is a dangerous cocktail that understands no civil or ethical underpinnings of
a business and sets the tone for for strife in the society.

The old manufacturing economy for domestic goods have given way to import driven
consumption economy with a huge welfare spending and a balooning CAD. The current
trend of people moving from the pure MBA based education to holding on their jobs
is only a reaction of the young student population.
