i am lucky in that respect....i have never faced an interview board of that kind since i entered job. 14 years ago...but where ever i got selected the interview was rigorous and lasted more than an hour.  ...

where it lasted 5 minutes...i was never called back....

So my experience has been 5 minute or one hour interview...... nothing in between.

The humiliating interviews i remember took place either immediately before or after MBA

 when i cleared The MBA entrance exam of a university where the final competition was based on a lot of irrelevant weight-ages for everyone.

I appeared for selection and the board members were senior professors and they said why are you trying so hard...you will never make it...you have nil in so many weightages...i said your selection procedure is wrong and since i came all the way to compete..i decided to make most of it...

Just because you are not selecting me because of your sloppy selection procedure...doesnt mean i wont get into MBA or i am not good enough... 

I will go places irrespective of whether you like it or not...I had tried my best for getting selected....and promised my self i will not allow people to insult me like that again.

and i did exactly that in an campus interview by a company after completing MBA ...i was being harassed in a similar manner as yourself..all laughing and giggling...when i told them that if they dont have anything concrete to ask...i will be on my way.  and saying this got up and left.....knowing fully well i was killing the last chance i had for selection..

before me already two MBA colleagues of my mine had left the interview room crying and only after this episode did they reveal they were made fun off.

The company manager complained to HOD saying they were not interested in campus interview anymore..my HOD heard my side of the story and smiled and said...well u made your choice..but i dont blame you for it...i think he asked for it...

Mr. Chandra... we listen to this kind of nonsense because we need the job....but sometimes we have to put our foot down.. and call a spade a spade..

dont lament not having been selected...think yourself the lucky one to be spared the torture of working in such an organization...

you feel dejected because they didnt take you seriously....relax and prepare...someone will....and that someone will be worth working for..

This is the way; our interview process is going on for recruiting a faculty in Management.

            Let us hope and pray for change in the mindset of interviewers to judge the performance of Management Faculty and let us rebuild the value of management education.
