Re: [MTC Global] Modern Interview questions to judge a Faculty leaked

I  appreciate the  stand of Dr Pratap Reddy. An interview for a Marketing Professor need not be revolving around core Marketing books alone. The way he  conducted the interview is fine and dignified (please see the version given out by Dr Pratap Reddy). A Management Professor need to know the society around and the way it behaves. A Manager does not function in isolation relying on Marketing text books.
However, while assessing the interview it is always apt to listen to both versions- of the interviewer and the interviewee.
With kind regards,
Dr Nagaraja Rao,

Dear Mr.Suresh chandra,

If it is an imaginary  mock-humorous interview God be thanked. If it is actually an interview in which such absurd questions were asked, it speaks of the quality of the interviewer and the Institution in which he works. If you happen to work in such institutions you will also in due course become like that interviewer.

I remember one nice anecdote in  a war field;
One Politician went to a battlefield and was looking at a GUN and lifted it with his hand in a reverse direction. He asked the commander, in which direction the gun will fire. The commander replied 'in whichever direction you fire'

The interviewer can be compared with that politician in the war field.

I am sure such interviewer would not laugh at the face of the candidate and try to put him/her down. It is Ok if you wish to judge out of box thinking but it does not mean that their behavior has to be ungraceful.

Dear Sir,

After hearing your interview questions i felt i can contribute few learning of what i have learnt

Before joining Academics, i was in-charge of various recruitment and marketing activities of my previous company which gives me confident in replying what i have learnt. If my remarks disappoint you, do take it in positive side

Few interviewers have notion of shortlisting a candidate based upon once intelligence which can be divided into 2 types

1. Behavioral Interview questions

2. Traditional Interview questions

Some of the world's biggest corporate( Apple, Microsoft etc) takes 1 st option to judge a intelligence of any candidates( apart from educational qualification and experience) and ask out of the box questions which may irritate person who is giving a interview

For years, few interviews ave been posing riddles and logic puzzles like these in their notoriously grueling job interviews. Now "puzzle interviews" have become a hot new trend in hiring

Facts need to be observed is, interviewer is naive and want to understand how best your going to answer analytically which is the need of hour for every organisation to hire despite whether we are Faculty or a software coder

Kindest Regards,

Dear All,

I would like to share my experience in an interview for Assistant Professor In Marketing which was held very recently.

Q1: Why do you keep Dr. before your name as you are not medical practitioner?

a)  I tried to defend expertise in an area… but no time to listen my words… a great laugh.

Q2. Who has created 'Trisanku swargam"?

a) No answer from my side as am poor in puranas. ……..Satire on my Career Objective

Q3. Is Konda Surekha, a Tigress? (She is the local Ex MLA in my region)

a)  My answer " Of course, her way of leading the party and activists and the way she has defended in the recently concluded election ensures the caliber as a tigress.  But reply, She is a woman, how can she be Tigress……… Great Laugh.

Q4. You said you stay in Tiger Hills Colony? How many tigers are there?

a) I said, Once people used to say the place is sensitive area as some people found tigers, after some years, the name of the colony created in that name……… But the reply is another comedy…..

Interview is over…. You can leave now.

This is the way; our interview process is going on for recruiting a faculty in Management.

Let us hope and pray for change in the mindset of interviewers to judge the performance of Management Faculty and let us rebuild the value of management education.

Thanks & regards,
Dr.Suresh Chandra.Ch
