Re: [ACEsthetics] Article: Measles Outbreak Traces To Vaccine-Refusing Megachurch

The problem I have with that line of thought, is that nothing is 100%, especially in medicine. Just because no vaccine is 100% effective, is that a valid reason not to use them? If it prevents 80, 90, 95% of the outbreaks and allows a 2 or 3% failure rate, isn't it better for all of us to have them?
Using the reasoning of not 100% effective is used on many fronts, but is just as invalid. We have murder laws, but people still kill other people. Should we just get rid of those laws, too? Same with speeding laws. Sometimes we do have to look at "what's best for the society as a whole", no matter how socialist or communist that sounds. Even Spock said it, "The needs of the many out weight the needs of the few," but then again, Spock was a Vulcan socialist.

If vaccines are that wonderful, the diseases wouldn’t exist nor would those who get vaccinated be concerned. We all want an easy quick fix (me included), unfortunately, with so many documented failures of vaccinations, there is still a long way to go.

You obviously did not follow the concentrated effort to eliminate small pox and the efforts of Rotary International and the Gates Foundation to eliminate polio.  The elimination of small pox could be directly traced to vaccines as can the almost total disappearance of polio where ever vaccination has been allowed.  The CDC should not be insulted by people who know nothing about vaccines other than they might cause some bad side effects.  Ice cream will make you fat and put plaque in your coronary arteries but we let people do that because it only harms them.  Refusal to accept vaccination effects every person who you come in contact with.  The church learned that and reversed their stand on vaccination.  Nothing will change your mind if proof was shoved down your throat.  You are one of the problems we have with eliminating these diseases…using crap science to convince desperate people that the problems their child was born with is related to vaccines and making them prophets of your bull crap.

With trends for all diseases sloping downwards prior to vaccines, we simply cannot say vaccines eliminated or even reduced these diseases. That would be like a car going down a hill, add a suitcase and say the suitcase caused the car to go down the hill. There are obviously many other issues (esp of today) with the limited efficacy (why so many documented vaccine failures where disease is present in people that are vaccinated), the safety issues (see Cochrane reviews) and the untested safety (where cocktails are not tested for safety).

Yes, I know Todd.  This is due to hand washing, herbs, and cranial osteopathy.  But for the rest of us who base our lives in reality, this diagram speaks volumes.
