I watched college fast pitch softball a while back and the pitchers had no facial protection. We had discussed that…Ray Voller particularly…on a previous thread.  There is no doubt those girls need some protection.  I saw one line drive hit the pitcher in the forehead before she could life her glove.

Pat....I thought you did an outstanding, comfortable job which showed a great personality...with humility.

As a Dad who has a son who played soccer at the elite level all over the country, and in college......I never could get him

to wear a mouthguard because in Texas it's not "mandated". (I do think that things are slowly changing). I've thought about this

so much over the years that I've also come to believe that the center official should where one as well. I've seen some nasty facials

with the center ref on the receiving end...I'm sure you've seen many more. What say you....
