Noticed how most of the dunks, when there were dunks, were barely over the rim. McHale barely got his wrists over the rim. Most of the under the basket shots tended to be bank shots then. Yes, a different game. Much more of a "team" game then, working the ball around.

The NBA was a different game back then. Not nearly the amount of one-on-one play or even pick and roll as they do now. Yet the games were higher scoring and offense flowed better.
Even though today's NBA players have had more time on the court through AAU, etc. they don't seem to understand the basics of team play nearly to the level of the "old guys".
Bird's favored way of taunting the opposing players...tell them what they should have done to stop him or score when they had the ball. He loved to make fun of guys that couldn't shoot left handed!

You're not likely to see this kind of stuff again...you'll see great athleticism and heroic dunks, clutch 3 point shots, etc., but this sh*t is few and far between...like Haley's comet.
