Tele/Video Conferencing Support Engineer
Location: Lake Forest, IL
Duration:6months
 
– Job Description
 The candidate should have in depth knowledge and practical application of video conferencing
technologies and protocols
 Requires expert level knowledge of video conferencing technologies especially Polycom CMA 4000 server
admin knowledge to provision and monitor global end points. 5+ years of experience is need
 Effective communication skills with fluency in English language is an absolute necessity
 Ability to test, troubleshoot and work independently to resolve both customer and executive issues or
problems
 Ability to communicate effectively with senior management and understand their specific video
conferencing needs
 The individual should be able to suggest best practices around video conferencing when required
 Provide local Video Conferencing support to CEO, CIO, CFO and staff using HDX,VSX Polycom Codes.
 Good knowledge of ISDN circuits and LAN troubleshooting.
 Support C‐level executives for video conferencing to both local and global sites spread across 3
geographies.
 Should have a flair for project management and independently complete tasks and meet deadlines
without daily supervision
 Basic networking understanding and skills including firewall compliance with video standards.
 Independent problem solving skills.
 Some on‐call or after hours work may be required
 General Windows operating systems experience.
 Ability to support high visibility town halls, summits, and global broadcasts to include knowledge of audio
mixing, webex, webinars, microphones, mixers, DA's, video switchers, projectors, low voltage wiring, AV
wiring, able to read and troubleshoot schematics, power point knowledge, able to deal with high stress
and high demanding situations
 Interface between customer and AV vendors to upgrade and expand new high end conferece
rooms. Knowledge of Crestron products, touchpanels, control processors and amps. Oversee AV projects
from planning, construction, to test and turnover.
 Maintain inventory control on all VC equipment and conference rooms.
 Create and maintain SOP – Standard Operating Procedures for VC support
 Knowledge of video shooting, and video editing with Final Cut, and streaming.
 Audio Conferencing – experience with NEC and other digital voice systems.
 Video Conferencing – experience with Polycom, Cisco/Tandberg, other video conferencing equipment
providers. Familiarity with VRS endpoints, and applications for PC, Mac, Android, iOS and others. Evaluate
and test various equipment and endpoints for VRS platform. Polycom video bridge support, MSOutlook
interoperability. Implement installation, instruct and coordinate client use of video conferencing
systems/applications for VRI and VRS solutions. Familiar with QoS and how it relates to video
conferencing.
 Web Conferencing – Good knowledge of MS LiveMeeting, NetMeeting, GOTOMEETING, TeamViewer and
Polycom web streaming applications and technologies.
 Audio/Visual Equipment Support – Configure or troubleshoot laptop/desktop A/V presenter equipment,
Polycom CMA server and gatekeeper, NEC digital phone system and other peripherals throughout the
company. Troubleshoot VRI and VRS interpreter station functionality issues. Online monitoring of various
equipment and call logs for remote call centers.
