I dropped thirty pounds doing this, Greg. My cardiologist says 205-210 is good for me much to my wife’s anger. She wants me to weight 165 like I did when we met. She still weighs the same thing but it is a massive job to stay there. Working out two hours a day five days a week has turned her hard but a lot of soft stuff is gone. Ironically, her cholesterol keeps going up.

I am a major foodie but I lost 65 pounds over a 6 month period and have kept it off for almost 5 years now. Did I use a fad diet?, supplements? starve myself? NO
The key was a simple alteration in how I was eating and what. Men need 80-85 grams of protein a day women need 30-35 grams. Consume enough protein and cut back on carbs and the body burns the carbs coming in. dont get enough protein and/or eat too much carbs and the body stores it. Also 1 meal a week splurge this helps the body think more calories coming and burns the calories coming in. continue cutting calories without the 1 splurge meal a week and the body adjusts the metabolism going into starvation mode and storing all the calories it can that do come in figuring it doesnt know when next big meal is coming.
