Re: [MTC Global]

Dear All,

Thanks to Prof. Goelji for bringing before us a news-article regarding private
universities.

In my view, nothing new appears in the said article, old wine in new bottle,
e.g., since 4 decades we cry that private institute/university is not for profit
making, not a venture to mint money without any investment, not for building
real estates, ideal norms and regulations for establishment (infrastructure,
etc,), harsh NAAC or NBA accreditation norms, etc.

As I know during AICTE/University LIC inspection, the first document referred
used to be the property documents that needs to be in the name of Institute. We
had transferred the relevant land, buidling etc., from Trust Account to
Institute title.

What need more regulation/attention is, say such areas as, the load and
performance of employees, process and performance management, financial
management so that tuition fees is affordable to a common man, quality
assurance, empowerment to earn reasonable profit, no trust member or their near
relatives be paid employees of institute/university, term-basis, say 5 years,
appointment especially for faculty, MOOC, key-performance criteria for faculty
and their annual assessment, right to remove the non-performing employees, etc.

Regards.

Yours,
