Explanation for Position: Will be a member of Operations Portfolio development team responsible for high performance, real-time applications that are operations critical for United Parcel Service. Will be required to develop server-side data-driven infrastructure applications. Candidates with mainly GUI application development are not good candidates for this position.
Details of Position:
Development activities include real-time database driven applications, services and management components. Responsibilities include participation in requirements analysis, technical designs, coding, unit testing, product test support, and deployment support. Knowledge, understanding, and experience of designing and developing C++ and C# based N-tier client/server applications. Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio.

Familiarity with all phases of the software development life cycle. Must be able to work effectively in a team environment with other developers, QA personnel, and user representatives. Must have excellent oral communication skills to interact with users and other team members. Must have excellent written communication skills to be able to write concise and understandable project documentation, functional specifications, user manuals and other technical materials.
