Location: New York, NY (Brooklyn)

Duration : 6month+

Technical Writer

The Technical Writer for the Functional Team's Business Systems Design (BSD) will lead the writing, editing and production of the set of client contract deliverables.

The Technical Writer will coordinate all activities related to the writing, editing, review and production of the documents, which involves joining together source materials from the Business Designs, Technical Designs and adding original content information to produce the Operations Guide, Data Dictionary, Train-the-Trainer Guide, OnlineHelp, and System Administration Guide. In addition, the Technical Writer will provide documentation technical support to other team members (Word templates, Screen Capture methods, Versioning Control), and QA and editorial review of other members' content so that documents with many contributors have "one voice" that is consistent and professional.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS REQUIRED
Professional technical writing for software applications and business processes supported by the software application, including editing disparate content into one clear professional "voice" across many documents. Advanced template and document formatting skills, including screen capture applications (eg, Snag-It) maintaining traceability of version control and tracking comments and review process.

Excellent communication and coordination skills to manage the writing and editing of multiple documents in parallel, working with Business Analysts and the Subject Matter Expert (SME) to write a business system design that is clear, concise and accurate.
Analytical skills to rapidly learn new application functionality and business processes to understand the content being documented. Highly organized to manage the workload, and keep progress moving forward, and proactively addressing issues to progress.
Excellent verbal, oral presentation, meeting facilitation and written communications skills to work with technical staff, client staff and stakeholders on document progress reviews, coordination, status and internal peer reviews.
Essential that the candidate is efficient and flexible to work the hours and schedule (long hours, weekends) as necessary to meet the project deliverable due dates over the 6 month duration of the work.

NONESSENTIAL SKILLS DESIRED
Subject knowledge with web-based services oriented applications, case management applications, government agencies.

HARDWARE/SOFTWARE PACKAGES

Expert in Microsoft Word, especially developing and managing Templates, working with very large documents with many images.
