It is with a broken heart that we the Chu family in the United States are announcing the death of our beloved mother, grandmother and mother in-law, Mrs. Mary Manyiagbor Besong Chu (popularly called Mami Chu) who passed-on, on Saturday, October 26, 2013 in Yaounde, Cameroon. Mrs. Mary Manyiagbor Besong Chu's death is also a big loss to the people of Manyu division and especially to the people of Ndekwai Village who loved her dearly as a beloved daughter, sister, cousin, mother and aunt. The women groups in Manyu division have lost a champion of their causes and advocate of their place in our community. The Eyumojock Family group in Maryland-United States has lost a founding member. MECA-USA has lost a strong promoter and voice of its philanthropic mission. The cultural groups in Manyu division have lost a talent. The orphanages in Manyu division have lost an Angel who gave them visibility around the globe. The Catholic Church in Cameroon, especially in Manyu division has lost a devoted Christian and a servant of the church. Our beloved mother, Mami Chu leaves behind, a daughter, four sons thirteen grandchildren, nieces, nephews and several generations of family members and friends to mourn her death.
