[MTC Global] Self-Confidence-How Some body Could Shore it up

Absolutely right Mr Nagarajan. 

When someone is entertaining an iota of doubt his Manager could do you a lot by following the great mantra (as good as Gayatri Mantra) of Pygmalean and Galatea.

As we all know, Pygmalean is all about communicating your expectations. That is you communicate in such a way so as to repose your confidence in him/her. But more powerful than Pygmalean is the Galatea . That is making some one believe in him (while he is entertaining doubts about him-Lord Hanuman while being entrusted with the job of crossing the sethu in search of Sita amma and Jambavanta reassuring him).

Gallup study established beyond doubt  about the Role of a Manager in creating a Strong and Vibrant Work Environment which impacts performance of employees in a significant manner. 

Let's continue to share and care while trying to make a difference to the people around to the best of our ability.

What one can understand from the park bench business man's episode is one needs a moral support which will work miracles. Neither material nor money can solve your problems but if you believe that you have  a moral support from someone who loves you most you will put forth your unstinted efforts to achieve your vision with  great dedication and determination.

With renewed optimism, he negotiated better deals and extended terms of payment. He closed several big sales. Within a few months, he was out of debt and making money once again. Exactly one year later, he returned to the park with the uncashed check.

At the agreed-upon time, the old man appeared. But just as the executive was about to hand back the check and share his success story, a nurse came running up and grabbed the old man. "I'm so glad I caught him!" she cried. "I hope he hasn't been bothering you. He's always escaping from the rest home and telling people he's John D. Rockefeller." And she led the old man away by the arm. The astonished executive just stood there, stunned. All year long he'd been wheeling and dealing, buying and selling, convinced he had half a million dollars behind him. Suddenly, he realized that it wasn't the money, real or imagined, that had turned his life around. It was his newfound self-confidence that gave him the power to achieve anything he went after
