Re: [MTC Global] Results which bothers

Dear ALL,
there is not one solution only, but many which we all have to put into action. In India, there is too much talk, and not enough action: "actionism", yes, to divert from the fact that there is no vision, no proper planning and, most important of all, no commitment of the Middle Classe (where most of our politicians and bureaucratic decision-makers come from) to act responsibly in favour of nearly half the population which is poor. We have to learn to say "NO" to corrupt politicians and bureaucrats, "NO" to easy favours we are offered in the fields where we work, and "NO" to the primary source of the overall misery: the fact that our educational system is abysmally outdated and misused as another means to mint money. We have to fight individually and also, join hands with the like-minded - each one has to start at one's own behaviour, at one's own turf. We always tend to blame others while it is OUR task to actively contribute to strengthening civil society.
The fact that computerisation in offices is still delayed and hampered shows that the decision-makers are afraid of making things transparent, it would expose all the fraud they are indulging in. Comupterisation in bureaucracy all over the country would at least create the fundament for transparency and accountability of what is really happening with the people's resources! MGNREGA and all other highly lauded schemes are nothing than invitations for fraud, they don't create a single sustainable workplace but keep the poor further in dependency so that they can further be blackmailed and cheated of the wealth of the country.
Greetings and: be courageous to act!

Amazing!  I thought things were bad for common man in India... but never fathomed they would be so bad!  And, you do raise the most pertinent questions. I can not only understand your outrage, I share it and echo it. But, what is the solution? India's two major maladies: corruption and hypocrisy will never allow common man to prosper no matter how much capital we have. I don't have the answer… I wonder does anyone really have the answer… or ideas? Let alone a plan. Moreover, we Indians always seek lime light for ourselves… consequently, many people play politics and do not contribute their mighty best in any project… I am truly frustrated… your e-mail had a very negative, perhaps depressive effect on me since I don't see a  solution as far as the eye can see… all said, thanks for the post, we need such jolts to shake ourselves out of stupor

Subject: [MTC Global] Results which bothers

Dear All,

I happened to collect some survey results which got published in the month of October 2013 and was amazed to see the rankings. I don't know why our media is hiding these facts and not debating on this. These are very disturbing statistics and all of them are more closely associated with common man. With out addressing these core issue, what is that development these economists,RBI,Planning Commission, politicians etc talking about. What is our prestigious institutes doing? Are they sitting like three monkeys?

Being so called leading Economist as Prime Minister for almost a Decade now and having top class economist as advisors, crores of rupees allocated in every budget on various schemes to address the below issues still the ranking given shows that what ever we hear and read is not correct in our country. With so many problems, I still doesn't understand the government definition of development (GDP grows by 8%). Just like they cheat common man with false assurances, even we educated people are also made fun of.

Global Gap Index - India's Rank 101 out of 136 countries
World Prosperity Index - India's Rank 106 our of 142 countries((we are below Bangladesh,Nepal)
Human Capital Index - India Ranks 78th
Global Slavery Index - India rated top (ranks not given) out of 162 countries
World Corruption Index- India Ranks 69th our of 197 countries
Global Hunger Index (Tracking Hunger) - India Ranks 65 out of 79 countries.
