Re: Re: [MTC Global] [Big Debate] Is skill gap is an universal phenomenon or more India Specific as reported in various media ?

Every generation has to face skill gap phenomenon that is but natural for the following
generations are on the shoulders of preceding generation, demands changes, hungry to adapt new
and advanced things, knowledge expanding. Hence attempts are necessary to optimize this gap.
Those countries that pace with this are found to be winners.

Let me give two examples:
1.
During 1977-78, I organized up-gradation prgs for TELCO employees while I was AP in COE, Pune
under the banner of CEP of the University, having 8 modules, each of one month followed by
assessment.
2.
Today at 70+ I am officiating as Adviser (HR) IBS, Marathwada Institute of Technology,
Aurangabad, With a toil of about 6 months our Management has gone for Time Bound Promotion
for class III & IV employees, revised salary for Nov. will be paid as per the promotions
offered. I added a prg for meeting the gaps for 48 promotees. See the attachment.

I think, we need to rise to the hour.

to fill this gap. In government sectors, the employees are sponsored for various training
programs. The Ministry of Higher education , few vocational training institutes conduct
programs to empower the youth of this nation. Most of the initiatives are time bound activities
with various criteria to assess the improvement. The commitment and interest level from the
youth varies from person to person.
The leaders here, make sure to deliver a power talk, inspiring the youth to move forward in a
more constructive manner. The prize money given to students for their creativity is impressive
(Eg: Around 1 million UAE dirhams for creative ideas to transform from e-governance to Mobile
governance, From mobile governance to smart governance etc.
Emiritization in many organization has already begun. The government Âalso makes sure to
emphasize on minimum qualifications and skills required for every Ânational to continue
in their present positions which forces them to acquire new skills that may help to enhance
their performance and understanding.
