Senior Application Developer (Java) Job Description
Position Summary |

Essential Responsibilities/ Duties |
· Responsible for developing all advanced aspects of presentation-tier and middle-tier web applications using Java and J2EE in the WebWork framework.
· Assume lead level responsibility as it pertains to overseeing work efforts of junior Developer resources.
Qualifications |
- BA or BS from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or similar program, or comparable education and/or work experience required.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven programming experience with Java or Masters degree in lieu of 3 years experience.
- Minimum of 2 years working in a UNIX environment
- Minimum of 5 years working in a Windows NT/2000 environment.
- Relational Database experience (Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB2, or Oracle)
- Minimum of 2 years of J2EE web application development or architect experience
- Minimum of 2 years experience with any J2EE application server (JBoss, Weblogic, Websphere, or similar)
- Must have knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) including: client requirements gathering, design specifications, solution development and testing of client applications, client support, training, and systems integration.
Skills/ Experience |
· Experience with the full software development life cycle, with emphasis on technical design and documentation activities
· Experience within the past year in a software organization with work cycles and product complexities in an enterprise software solution
· Effective listening and problem solving skills
· Client-focused attitude with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
· Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to clearly communicate and share solutions with fellow team members
· Ability to travel for one to several consecutive day(s) (minimal) when needed (< 25% domestic travel to any of the US states)
· Experience with Webwork, Spring, Struts and/or Hibernate preferred
· BEA WebLogic and/or IBM WebSphere experience preferred
· Client facing and/or previous lead experience preferred
· Experience with PDF generation software preferred
· Java Certified Programmer preferred
