Main reason for concern of the parents is future of their children. Unfortunately there is inadequate education of the parents about varied avenues open.for the children.
Problem is that even if there was proper education of the parents, there are no suitable institutes to provide required education.
We have large number of institutes opened on disciplines where is scope of large donations.

Ambition of parents to make their children BIG only plays a vital role in the selection of schools rather the curriculum. "STATUS" and EGO play a bigger role in putting their children in selective schools. Parents do not see as to what their children are capable of . They compare themselves only with their neighbours, peers and friends and want to protect their own Image.
-- Finally pressure is mounting on the innocent children to cope up with their studies which has been thrust in them.
That is why we find frustration in students resulting in loss of lives. Let the parents be not over-ambitious to turn their wards into Edisons or EInstins overnight. Let the wards have the freedom of selection of courses atleast after their schooling.

I would be enrolling my kids to school next year. I am not really concerned about the curriculum because I do not want my kids to learn too many subjects. I want them to enjoy their childhood.Rote learning is just killing the growth of our children and the world is discussing it! High time that we make the school curriculum simple! Not just the children in schools but also in most of the higher education institutes. We take the IIMs and the IITs as the standard, but a significant part of our younger population join average colleges and the quality gap between the IITs and these colleges is very huge! Let's not push too much into our children…!From: join_mtc@googlegroups.com [mailto:join_mtc@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Virendra Goel

Subject: RE: [MTC Global] Confused Parents @ SchoolI have been associated with school education for last 30 years and I have to say the following on the issue:1. No curriculum is good or bad – there is a slight difference in methodology.2. Irrespective of the board or curriculum, management policies and monitoring and quality of teachers is the key to the students' learning.3. There are very few parents who are very specific about the curriculum like IB, because they are planning international education for their ward.4. Generally parents gather information through campus visit (infrastructural facilities, general environment , discipline and housekeeping) through interacting with existing parents of the school ( satisfaction, any additional/hidden financial impact not mentioned in the literature of fees schedule and behavior of the school staff) , and through comparing the results of board examinations.5. Demand of admission in reputed schools is always more than the availability.Hence I do not see any competition among schools as far as admissions are concerned. Yes, there is a competition to produce better examination results and better performance in extra-curricular activities to build an image for the school and create more demand because they can sustain high fee incidence and charge more than other schools only if they have better image than other schools.RegardsVirendra GoelFrom: join_mtc@googlegroups.com [mailto:join_mtc@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of sanjay bharti Bharti
