MAJOR RESPONSIBLITIES AND DUTIES
Application Support
Ensure that applications in the production environment are available according to the needs of the business and established Service Level Agreements (SLA’s)
Monitor support requests received throughout the day to ensure that all critical items are addressed
Resolve business-technology issues that impact production processes and system availability
Understand and prioritize open issues and user requests according to the needs of the business
Ensure that software enhancements and system fixes meet intended business needs according to defined requirements
Support end-of-day processes during off-hours according to the established rotation schedule
Ensure that critical processing jobs are complete and the required output is created
Take ownership for the resolution of technical issues for assigned third-party vendor applications
Plan, test, and deploy bug fix, enhancement, and upgrade software releases
Software Development
Ensure development projects are delivered properly to meet the requirements of both business and IT.
Build sound technical solutions to meet user requirements that consider system capacity, limitations and performance requirements
Ensure that software enhancements and system fixes meet intended business needs according to defined requirements
Maintain and follow established Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies on all development initiatives
Develop high level and detailed designs for assigned development initiatives
Prepare technical specifications from which application programs will be developed
Develop and execute QA routines to ensure quality of software
Assist in the planning and deployment of software releases
Inform manager and user community of progress, issues and concerns
Business Analysis
Develop a strong understanding of business requirements; working with business users to define technical and process requirements
Identify and recommend best approach to solve business issues
Document business requirements and create detailed requirements for proposed solution changes. Analysis includes user requirements as well technology requirements.
Strong interaction with end users and business sponsors required
REQUIREMENTS
Education and Training:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university
Post graduate work, such as financial certification, or master’s degree, preferred
Experience:
5+ years of solid experience in Business Application Software design, development and production support
Recent ASP.Net / MVC Experience
Sound testing experience including unit testing
Good understanding of JavaScript preferred
Investment industry experience preferred
Technical skills:
Languages : C# --- demonstrate other relevant experience
Windows Applications : .Net
Web Applications: .Net
RDBMS: Microsoft SQL Server, SSRS -Reporting Services, SSIS and SSAS
Scripting: SQL required, Stored Procedures,
Operating systems - Windows, UNIX a plus
Batch scheduling (IBM/Tivoli Workload Scheduler a plus)
SharePoint
Strong data awareness and understanding required
Exceptional software development skills
Strong business acumen and service orientation
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong work ethic
Self-starter
Ability to make decisions in a timely manner, sometimes with incomplete information and under tight deadlines and pressure; innovative thinker and creative problem solver; ability to generate innovative solutions; makes decisions using thorough use of data and process, and the moves quickly to action
