STATESMEN OF REUNIFICATION RE-UNITED IN MAMFE(1963)

1963. Mamfe Town. My grandfather, Mfor Tambe-Ayuk Mbechang of Besongabang (second from left) poses with his KNDP political ally, Prime Minister John Ngu Foncha, of West Cameroon and Manyu SDO Mr. Thomas M. Ndoko.

Five months after the Plebiscite of 1961 Amadou Ahidjo, at the behest of J.N Foncha, decorated Mfor Tambe-Ayuk Mbechang for meritorious services towards the Reunification of Cameroon.  My grandfather was the first traditional leader to be decorated for Plebiscite services.  As a scion of this great Manyu ruler, I cannot put asunder what he believed in and fought for.  I would be betray his sacred trust if I did not fight to preserve The Republic of Cameroon.
