Title: Network Tester
Duration: 12+ months
Location         -Santa Clara, CA

Rate: $40/hr c2c max

Platform and Networking Test Engineer

Must Have Skills:

• Proficiency in testing network protocols (TCP/IP stack, IPv6, Ethernet, VLANs, LACP, DNS/DNSv6, DDNS, and DHCP/DHCPv6) for a NAS storage system/backup appliance.

• IPv6 knowledge is essential; Prefer past experience of qualifying network or storage systems for United States Federal organizations.  Involvement with UNH-IOL IPv6 test suites highly desired.

• Must understand NIC implementation, and have the ability to configure DNSv6/DHCPv6 systems for interoperability testing with the storage system/backup appliance.

• Strong Linux Fundamentals (especially with respect to network interfaces, NICs), including kernel/device driver testing.

• Skilled at Hardware platform testing and Hardware component trouble shooting, integration, and OS installations and upgrades.

• Experience in Functional Black and Grey box testing.  Aptitude to review and discuss Development unit test cases.

• Experience using hardware switches & routers from difference vendors are plus.

• Ability to architect and implement test strategies for IPv6; including attendance of functional specification reviews, development of test plans, and subsequent execution of the test plans

• Test automation with Ruby. Ability to automate into an existing automation framework during the test execution period.

• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written); able to collaborate with the quality team and development engineers from all positions.

Desirable Technical /Functional Skills

• Responsible for the development and execution of test plans to ensure high quality of new IPv6 software features. 

• Authors and executes test cases using defined methodologies for manual and/or automated tests. 

• Isolates, reproduces, and tracks bugs, and verifies fixes. 

• Creates, maintains, and modifies IPv6 test environments and configurations as needed to reflect product/test case requirements or problem recreation scenarios. 

• Documents test results, helps prioritize defect fixes, and builds test case databases to assist in the continuous improvement and modification of software.

• Assists in the assessment and planning of test efforts required for new IPv6 features.
