Load Tester – HP Performance Center

Under minimal supervision, responsible for analyzing software development requirements, system design documentation and existing systems to identify expected load points, bottlenecks, rendezvous areas, session lengths, ambiguities, peak usage times and other performance impacts. Develop load testing plan and scripting blueprint for medium to large-scale projects. Document and present performance test findings to cross-functional IT departments throughout the software development life cycle. Consult with the various IT departments on identifying and executing solutions to remedy the errors identified during the load testing. Initiate re-testing of the application to ensure all problems are resolved and no others have occurred because of the solution. At this level, positions have a full understanding of the concepts and applications of load testing and perform high-level analysis and load testing.

 

Required skills:

Incumbents should have a solid understanding and ability to analyze the environment that will impact the performance of the systems and the applications under test. Incumbents typically have 7-9 years of experience in this capacity.
Experience in fourth generation programming languages and general scripting languages. C and Java programming skills recommended but not required. Strong understanding in networking concepts and system architectures on a variety of platforms such as UNIX, LINUX, AIX and Windows is required. Extensive knowledge of load testing tools is required.
HP Performance Center experience required.
