Description:
Client is rolling out its first Big Data implementation with Oracle's Big Data Appliance (BDA) which leverages the Cloudera Hadoop distribution. Initially, we will be building up this new environment by sourcing data from various internal and external source systems to solve a very specific use case of generating client insights for our Commercial sales team.
We are looking for an experienced developer/architect with direct hands on experience designing and implementing data ingestion methods into HDFS/HBASE using various tools such as Sqoop, Flume, etc. In addition, direct hands on experience required using MapReduce, Hive, Pig, and/or Impala to prepare data to meet analytic or reporting needs.
Will work with data analysts/data scientists from various lines of business to understand their requirements, and translate them to practical solutions on BDA. Be a thought leader in Big Data, and mentor other developers and analysts on best practices and techniques
At least 2 years of experience required using various Big Data technologies (Cloudera preferred) to solve real world use cases. Must be able to articulate their specific role, level of hands on activity, and outcomes of these real world use cases solved.
