Re: [MTC Global] [Weekend Big Debate] Education Sovereignty

To me "education sovereignty" means freedom to teach and learn what
one desires, without any outside control. But it so rarely feasible,
nay it does not so happen because of several constraints imposed by
stakeholders.

Certainly, the Country will have an upper hand. But if an
institution leads towards well-fare and prosperity of public, the
Country would support it, see the many (rich) Ashrams in foreign
countries teaching Yoga.

Many a times what we we teach or what we learn have temporary gains
and long term adverse effects. But helplessly we witness it.

Education is to training of mind, senses and generating good
citizens for the country, employment or earning capability is
secondary that is normally forgotten.

In fact, faculty need to have freedom (complete sovereignty) to
choose and teach the courses that they think proper for the students
they teach, one according to one's need. But then faculty's
responsibility is multiplied many folds!

We prefer to stay under the control of somebody, rather than self-
control, as it reduces risk and offers more safety. This is how
sovereignty plays a role!
