SCOM Engineer
Location: Louisville, KY
Duration: 4+ Months
Assignment Description: Candidate will aid the IT Enterprise Monitoring team in developing a solution for application/service based monitoring in SCOM and Orchestrator. System Center 2012 R2 and Orchestrator is fully implemented and we are building out service/health models for services and applications for the company. This assignment will involve helping build custom management packs, monitors for each of these critical services. Orchestrator will be used to monitor, track and alert on key alerts within these services including notifications to level 1 and 2 support teams. Orchestrator integration packs will be developed to interface with our ITIL incident management system and CMDB (Configuration Management Database).
Skill Set Requirements and Capabilities: Experience with Microsoft System Center 2007/2012 Operations Manager SCOM and System Center 2012 Orchestrator. Candidate should have in depth knowledge of Operations Manager including development of custom management packs using VSAE (Visual Studio Authoring Extensions) and/or C#/PowerShell SDK development for Operations Manager. Candidate should possess experience in automating processes in Orchestrator. This role involves helping the IT Enterprise Monitoring team in building out custom service models, health models and notification, event and alert management using SCOM and Orchestrator. Experience with Visual Studio 2010, C#, PowerShell, SCOM command shell and Orchestrator Integration Pack development a plus.
Special Requirements: SCOM Management Pack development and Orchestrator experience desired.
