Re: Re: Re: [MTC Global] Many bankrupt colleges to shut shop in Andhra Pradesh

Dear Sir, You are very right. As it is, what would be the course in
Electronics without the fundamentals of electrical engineering or for
that matter Electronics and Telecomm engg. There is a need for some
clarity on this nomenclature.
Subjects, that were taught or covered in M.Tech in the past are now
to be taught at the undergraduate level then such subjects need to be
built into the curriculum ground-up
I remember we had a subject called: Mechanics of Solids. Now this
subject was an essential one for Mechanical, Civil and the old
Electrical Engineering. However, at a later date it was made as an
elective for people taking up Electronics or Computers.
I am not so sure if AICTE has undertaken such an exercise, if so then
there is a need to inform the students about the areas of application
where a graduate can hope to work.

Institutions in Andhra have gone bankrupt because they have sought to
student grabbing for fancy sounding courses without being able to
develop the expertise required to conduct such courses.
The importance of fundamental facilities in infrastructure:libraries,
labs, etc--of course good faculties has been lost on them.

Members in this august body could debate upon it.
Best Regards,
K.Paranjpe
