PHP Stack/Java developer: This one has been open for 3 weeks, 2 positions, one Junior one Senior.
 
RESPONSIBILIIES:

• Develop PHP and Java code based on analysis of business requirements for ABC's Watch product line, including proof of concepts, feature enhancements, and bug fixes.
• Creating detailed documentation for the software design and development.
• Production support for the application.
• Provide guidance for junior developers in software design standards and quality. (not applicable for junior level)
• Performing code reviews with other members of the team and providing guidance on refactoring, pair programming, and testing to ensure quality.

(participation only for junior level)
 
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (Required Skills, Ability and Experience):

• 8 years of experience as a software developer. (at least 4 years for junior level)
• Experience working in agile software development
• Experience working with testing software (Java or PHP)
• PHP, Java, Linux, MySQL, jQuery, Ajax, Javascript, HTML, CSS, CodeIgniter framework, Active record, Object oriented programing, MVC architecture, Apache, Camel, Git, Subversion.

 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (Preferred Skills, Ability and Experience):

• Amazon Web Services SDK, Jenkins
• Broadcast systems and software experience
• Media and entertainment application experience
• REQUIRED EDUCATION;  Bachelor's degree   PREFERED EDUCATION  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science

 
Additional Criteria:

• Candidate must be able to describe a development project they have worked on in the past and describe the general design and/or approach.
• Candidate must demonstrate understanding of fundamental database concepts, such as foreign keys and database integrity.
• Candidate should be able to describe how to iterate over a collection in PHP.
• Candidates should be able to describe several activities within a Linux environment, such as starting and stopping processes, as well as logging against those processes.
• Candidates should be able to describe how they would troubleshoot performance issues.
• Candidates should be able to share their software development experience related to their use of design patters, interfaces, refactoring, and automated testing.
• Candidates should be able to describe one or more PHP frameworks that they have experience using and/or any experience writing libraries in PHP.
• Candidates should be able to share experience with JavaScript and JQuery libraries.
• Candidate must demonstrate understanding of PHP OOP methodologies.
