Job Description:Microsoft SQL Server BI Developer for our Business Intelligence group.
This position will require development of new application functionality as well as 
maintenance of source code for the existing platforms using the Microsoft BI technology 
stack (Analysis Services, MDX, Reporting services, Performance Point, PowerPivot). 

Requirements:
The candidate will have proven ability to develop front-end presentation solutions 
(such as business area dashboards and reports) of Business Intelligence applications, 
standalone as well as within a SharePoint environment. 
Specific job responsibilities will be performed through participation in a software 
development lifecycle that will include interaction with project managers, analysts, 
other developers and engineers. 
A strong work ethic, excellent written and verbal communication skills and sharp customer 
service abilities are keys to fulfilling job responsibilities. 

The candidate will have experience in the following areas:
• T-SQL/ SQL Server
• Practical knowledge of ETL, extracting and loading large data volumes and performing 
complex transformations.
• Expertise with SQL Server business intelligence products, including SSAS, SSRS and 
Management Studio.
• Experience in Data Warehouse Development.
• Strong knowledge of relational database modeling principles and techniques.
• Incremental Design and Architecture
• Test Driven Development

Key responsibilities:
• Develop, test and deploy standard reports and dashboards based on business requirement 
document specifications
• Work collaboratively with Business Systems Analyst's and/or directly with key 
business users to ensure business requirements and report specifications are documented 
accurately and completely
• Follow established change control, release management and incident management processes 
while developing and deploying standard reports
• Recommend and utilize BI semantic meta-models in order to drive reporting standards, 
re-use, quality and reporting simplification
• Suggest improvements to the semantic model where applicable
• Work collaboratively with Project Managers to develop project plans and perform required 
project tasks with minimal supervision
• Complete development of reports and enhancements in a timely manner with high quality

• Provide technical guidance to IT and business report developers on appropriate usage of 
the semantic meta-models and BI tools
• Suggest opportunities to improve reporting solutions
• Support software installations and upgrades, as necessary
• Participate in user group forums and knowledge transfer sessions;
• Mentor more junior BI developers, as necessary.
