Boston Phone/skype   Our direct client is looking for a Programmer Analyst /  Business Analyst for a 5 - 6 month + contract can go longer in Boston MA   The project will automate and productionize quant trading processes. This position is responsible for business analysis and development.   Candidate should have development skills / business knowledge Responsibilities: Requirements gathering and documentation Technical design, implementation, and unit testing Partner with Application Architect to review and implement business requirements Partner with Project Managers on estimates, statuses, identifying issues and raising risks   Skills Required Full SDLC expertise – cover requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, documentation Proficient developing software on Linux Proficient in SQL/DML Strong motivation and ability to work in a fast-paced, small, team-oriented environment that supports a business-critical production environment   Preferred Experience with Perl Oracle rdbms PL/SQL Developer tool Web services development Prior IT experience at Wellington Management Company   Strong Plus Experience with a Statistical package (R ideal; Matlab or S acceptable) Experience with cloud development and deployment (AWS ideal) Experience with ETL tool (DataStage ideal) Knowledge of TDI Tickwrite Computer Science degree or related field (Math, Physics, Finance, etc.)     A person who is experienced with quantitative analysis methods (regressions, principal component analysis, optimization techniques, etc.) Someone who is hands-on with the tools that are used for prototyping quant models (something like MatLab, R, etc.) Someone who is completely versant in data analysis (SQL) Someone who knows enough about technology to guide Jr. Java developers to produce implementations.  But expert-level Java programming isn't necessarily required. Financial services knowledge is nice, but not required.
