I wish to add my voice by asking Mr. Ebini to immediately subtract his own voice from the debate, and here is why. Mr. Enow Agbor (to whom I owe a lot of respects given his mature approach to a lot of issues in this Matango house) was uncharacteristically very condescending to his peers in his dismissive rebuttal. He knows that most people don't spend the time to change "headings" of mails for whatever reasons. Was this enough to characterize their exchanges as "childish"? Mr. Agbor is usually a cool-headed well behaved guy.

In my humble opinion, these discussions were actually giving more visibility and FREE publicity to the Manyu event(s). EVENTS? YES.

Some of us get confused with all these "Conventions"...par exemple:

There is a MECA-USA, Inc (with our very own Dr. Besong as President) event at the All Saints Anglican Church in Hyattsville, Maryland from July 3rd to the 5th and another MECA-USA Convention in Atlanta, Georgia (The State where their Republican Congress just approved a Law for every citizen if they so wish, to carry GUNS into churches, schools, bars and even the Convention premises) from July 3rd to the 5th to raise funds for a "Kembong Science Laboratory". All their initiatives are laudable and necessary.

Now, I love both Dr. Besong and Mr. Agbor. Wuna tell me (without sounding childish please) Which of the two Conventions should I attend? Do I simply stay home and divide the "Cent Kollo" I had into two and give feepty feepty each way and forego the ambiance of meeting with my Ossing moyos? Dat is the kweshion. If I mah calcul, mah plan, the Atlanta trip might not be cost effective for me BUT my confusion still stays bicos my moyos dem 4 Atlanta plenty pass Maryland. Again, how can I abandon my paddyman Dr. Besong when he has always been supporting me in my own pet "Projects"?

Wuna see say na catch 22 Tchakala Olodje situation be dat. So; what to do...support my good friend Massa Agbor Enow or back Njangui 4 my mblalla Dr. Besong Samuel? I need advice...NOW.

MECA Georgia is a

is the issue, problem, or challenge?

Currently, Government High School
(GHS) Kembong cannot offer science classes for High School
students, because
there is no lab. All
science
students from the area must seek admission in larger towns,
where living is
expensive (rent, water, electricity, cooking stove, food,
etc.). As a result,
many science inclined students are forced to abandon their
scientific
inquisition. With a science lab, hundreds of Secondary and
High School science
students would benefit directly each year. The entire
community would benefit
by more students staying in the village renting houses,
purchasing food and
other items. Moreover, GHS Kembong will be able to keep her
best students and
attract good students from neighboring secondary and high
schools leading to
improved results in the GCE Ordinary and Advanced
levels.

Statistics of the
2010 GCE Examination shows that of the
thirteen (13) Anglophone Divisions, Manyu Division came in
12th in
the GCE Ordinary Level, and 9th in the GCE Advanced
Level. This
position has not changed, because of ingrained problems such
as poor
classroom facilities, lack of libraries, lack of functioning
science
laboratories and scientific apparatus, undedicated teachers
and principals,
poverty, domestic responsibilities placed on students,
oversize classes,
inadequate teaching materials, poor or no electricity
connection, poor roads, and
disengagement from parents, students, community leaders,
elites, and Manyu
academicians.

The MECA
Georgia Government High
School Kembong Science Lab project and fundraising seeks to
encourage students,
including disadvantaged girls in Kembong and nearby villages
to learn sciences.
Science education would improve the GCE pass rate and enable
them to become
doctors, engineers, and other professionals in the field of
sciences; making a
better Cameroon, Africa, and the world.
