Re: [MTC Global] Some recognition!

Three cheers for you sir.

This reminds me of how institutions with all the abundance that your institution lacked ..squander away their good fortune and later pay the price.

Allow me to quote a live example....

My city is present between two mighty revers

towards slightly south west the yamuna in delhi and north east in garhmukteshwar the ganges.

There was a time when this area used to be draught ridden as it was a higher land but then an englishman build the ganges canal and shortage of water became history.

Now I cite an example of an insitution. They build buildings, as there was no shortage of water (water table being very good here) they build a water tank on the campus to supply water to all hostels and
Offices both academic and administrative.

They surendered the municipal water supply soon after.
Some time passed before students started falling sick. They where diagnosed as having contracted jaundice and typhoid.

Food was checked ..with no result and with the rising cases ..one director decided to get the water checked.

Vola....the water was undrinkable. Too many germs. So water from tank was checked as well . The problem was that ground water was being pumped out and it hadn't been dug deep enough. At the same time the sewerage system was not adequate. There was no proper disposal system. It was being openly dumped in a pond at some distance.

that water was seeping under ground.

The result was that the institution paid fine for cleaning up as there were sugarcane fields all around. And after that the college funded a free vacination program against hepatitis B ..when parents became angry with the administration for putting the lives of their children at risk.

Those who take their good fortune for granted should read your story

Thanks and regards

One month back I was asked to send some suggestions in the context of World Day to Combat Desertification. In response to this, I e-mailed details of how we transformed an extremely high saline wasteland in a semi-desert area to a green campus. I have now been pleasantly surprised to receive the attached letter and certificate.

I take this opportunity to express my sincere appreciation and grateful thanks to all our supporters and well-wishers to make this happen.

Best regards
