Except my recollections are failing me; Skyline Hotel @ Upstation Bamenda, The Nanga Building and other Landmark edifices in Akwa Douala, several respectable buildings in Limbe, Yaoundé, Buea and Kumba are relics of the Pa Nanga Legacy. Pa Che has a couple of Real Estate properties in Tsinga, Etoa Meki, NkomNkana and Madagascar Yaoundé that I personally know of...and of course Pa "Show-Boy" Kilo has some of the most beautiful girls that any polygamist marriage has ever produced, including Douala, Mbatu, Banso and other Bamendrous combinations. I am talking as an insider into the Kilo arrangements.
The only problem with these erstwhile Bamendrous business moguls, was their propensity for numerous extra-marital promiscuous shenanigans including borning pickens with Bamouns, Bulus, Foulbes, Bakweris, Nkambes, Baforchus, Bayanguis even up to his very own kontri Koffee Bangfehs....in short...where ever these "Contractors" were offered a JOB to build a school, roads or whatever; they ended up "borning picken dem" with the local beauties. That is why, when you hear of a Nanga, Kilo or Che Babe, they are always very HOT commodities and highly sought after. As a matter of fact, the last Kilo and Nangah mammie I saw was so HOT that two guys almost ended up in a fist fight to determine who might end up "owning" the her. I was an impartial referee.
CONCLUSION: Bamilekes may be a force in the "Buyam Sellam" businesses in Bamendrous circles but the most lucrative businesses are still dominated by indigenous Bamenda people. Check out one of the richest Cameroonian Businesses in the persons of Architect Eric Njong (BUNS Construction), TANO Construction, JOE Corner Wata, Ben Nkwenti, Parigo Industrial, Ngwayam Ventures..and many more.
These are Bamendrous Business household names. The biggest Cameroonian Art Gallery in Europe and America is owned by our very own Battonier Ben Muna of Mungyen-Mbu near Mbengwi. These are documented facts, not, I Hia Say. Alhadji Baba Danpulo, the CFA milliadaire hails from Ndop, Ngoketungia. Dollar Millionaire Chris Che of Cincinnati, Ohio (the Cameroon Mitt Romney who buys, fixes and sells American Companies) is a Mankon guy from my Alamatu neighborhood...even Mishe Fon the illusionist, a millionaire in his dreams is very Bamendrous. This is in no way trying to undermine Bamileke Business prowess and acumen.
