Position:        QA Tester

Duration:     2 Years

Job Description:

POSITION PURPOSE:

·         Provide test automation services related to system test strategies and solutions that incorporate industry standard techniques, strategies and processes.

·         Plan, design, create and execute automated test suites for multiple applications with supervision by team leads.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Design, write and maintain automated test scripts and execute existing automated suites

·         Perform setup, testing and administration of tools used by the testing team

·         Actively communicate testing status, including schedule, risks, issues, defects, and potential impacts

·         For small and moderately complex testing issues, troubleshoot issues by researching symptoms, analyzing impacts and implementing solutions

·         Participate in the entire testing project lifecycle from requirements to test executions

·         Create test scenarios/cases and data based on requirements/user stories for non-GUI applications (i.e. Web Services)

·         Execute test cases and report all defects in defect management tool

·         Communicate test status including progress, defects, risk and potential impacts

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

·         Undergraduate degree in CS/CE/CIS/MIS/Engineering/Technology a related field or equivalent experience and or training.

·         4+ years of QA and/or application development experience

·         2+ years of hands on experience of test automation of applications

·         Thorough knowledge/experience applying automation techniques and tools (TFS or HP Mercury preferred)

·         Experience in automated test case suites maintenance, including creation of new tests, automated test scheduling, execution and test logs analysis

·         Experience in testing SOA and Web Services preferred

·         SDL experience; Agile experience preferred

·         Demonstrated knowledge of programming and scripting languages (MS Visual Basic, ASP .NET, Java Script, C++, C-Sharp, XML, WSDL, BizTalk)

·         Experience with Windows XP/7 and UNIX environments

·         Proficient with Microsoft Office Tools

·         Knowledge of performance test principles and tools

·         Exposure to MQ Series and WCS

·         Knowledge of relational databases (SQL7, Oracle)

·         Good prioritization, time management/multi-tasking skills

·          Flexibility and adaptable to changing environments

·         Good written and verbal communication skills

·         Airline experience – a plus
