Title : Build Engineer
Location : Fremont, CA
Duration : 6+months
POSITION SUMMARY
This candidate will be responsible for developing new services, systems and tools for V.me's Product Development infrastructure with the capability to support continuous integration development and zero down time releases, which are highly automated. In addition, this team will be responsible for designing and implementing solution for V.me in the area of monitoring, reliability, scalability and performance. Be able to translate business use cases into technical specification and implement the solution. Designing and implementing highly available, scalable, reliable and manageable systems will be key to the success of V.me.
Key responsibilities include:
· Engage in technical design of solution that is based on use cases and business requirements
· Lead the creation of detail design and use case documents
· Design, implement and support continuous build systems for mobile application and java applications
· Design and implement tools for configuration and deployments of applications
· Participate and determine root cause for service failure and support escalation.
· Own documentation that communicates standards and best practices.
Qualifications:
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in system services and tools development of large scale system, applications and tools (Apache/Tomcat)
· Advance knowledge and experience with Linux and UNIX
· Extensive experience with HTTP, REST, XML, AJAX
· Experience programming in Python/Java
· Experience with one or more build management tools (Anthill, BuildForge, CruiseControl, Bamboo, Hudson, etc.)
· Expert knowledge of RCM concepts (codelines, branching, merging, integration, versioning, etc.)
· Experience with structured build files/tools (ant, Maven)
· Experience with a scripting language (Perl, Python, bash)
· Working experience with monitoring tools like OPPNET and/or SPLUNK, or any other monitoring tools/processes
· Experience with multiple software version control systems (AccuRev a plus, or Subversion, ClearCase, Perforce, etc.)
· Experience with Change Management tools (Jira, ClearQuest, etc.)
· Passion for quality in CM processes
· Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize time with minimal supervision
· Complete understanding of the software development life-cycle
· Excellent verbal , written and listening communication skills
· Experience in working in a cross functional organization with multiple stakeholders
