Role:  Senior QA / Performance Engineer
Location: Greensboro, NC 
Duration: 12+ months

MUST HAVE SKILLS:
Performance testing experience
Expert level at HP LoadRunner or Performance Center. (LoadRunner is preferred)
finance/insurance experience is a plus

Summary of Responsibilities:
Responsible for script reviews, standardization, work load models, and detailed performance test plans.
Maintains overall application(s) infrastructure knowledge
Able to support performance testing through architecture reviews, capacity planning, code profiling, and root cause analysis (RCA)
Responsible for the design and execution of tests for identified business critical transactions and capture vital metrics (e.g., CPU utilization, memory utilization, context switches,.etc..)
Understands, develops and maintains a complete overview of the applications / projects, their dependencies, non-functional objectives and architectural design
Works closely with development on design and implementation of enhancements making tuning recommendations to improve software performance.
Reviews application components for conformance to clustering and failover
Make tools recommendation for code analysis, profiling, load testing and monitoring
Participates in performance defect triage and test status meetings
Adheres to United Guaranty Corporation QA practices, standards, and guidelines.

Required Skills / Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field and 6+ years of experience in Performance Engineering or related field. Additional equivalent work experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
At least 5 years of work experience in development and execution of detailed performance test plans
At least 4 years of work experience specific to performance optimization/tuning
At least 4 years of work experience in Performance leadership
At least 4 years of work experience in Web services
At least 3 years utilizing industry tools such as HP Performance Center and LoadRunner
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Experience in financials / insurance domain
Experience with tools such as CA Wiley/CEM, Dynatrace, Sitescope, Splunk, BMC, Patrol, Vcenter, and IBM Coremetrics
At least 2 years of work experience in DB2 Database , Oracle, Enterprise Service Bus (ESB)

Preferred Skills / Experience:
At least 2 years work experience in EMC / Documentum application
At least 2 years work experience in service virtualization (e.g. CA LISA, Parasoft, SOAP UI)
Ability to communicate cross-functionally and across management levels in meetings Must have Release Management experience (if doesn't have, PM experience is OK)
