SQL/Report Developer
Detroit, MI
6 Months Contract
Rate: $35/Hour on C2C
Job Description
This position, under the Operational Performance Management (OPM) department, is primarily responsible for developing automation solutions via MS SQL Server databases, SSIS packages, and MS Office Tools. Excellent communication and customer service oriented skills are required. This position has frequent customer interaction and the successful candidate must have proven abilities to extract and analyze requirements from customers at all levels of the organization. Under general guidance and coaching, performs technical design and development of applications using existing and emerging technology platforms. Designs, codes, tests, debugs, documents, and maintains those applications. Ensures SDLC methodology is followed, conducts inspections and post implementation reviews. Competent to work at a high technical level for the entire application development life-cycle. Partners with business personnel to conduct analysis of organizational needs. Acts as a primary liaison with the user area for development and modifications to existing applications.

Required Skills/Experience
- Working knowledge in one programming language required.
- Experience in developing and supporting MS SQL Server 2005, 2008, or 2012 objects
- Solid experience with SQL query language including TSQL, views, and stored proc.
- Experience in developing and supporting MS SQL Server Integrated Services (SSIS)
- Experience with SQL Server Management Studio tools
- Experience in documenting user requirements, developing conceptual and detail designs
- Must be self-motivated and be able to work under pressure
- Results oriented while being flexible to adjust to a dynamic environment
- Ability to work with minimal direction while exhibiting good follow-through
- Ability to work both independently and within a team on several assignments/projects concurrently
- Willing to learn new skills and tools
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Microsoft Access database development and support of tables, forms, queries, and modules.
- Ability to write and interpret VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) code.
- Experience with developing automations, end-user applications, and/or user-interfaces.
- Excel macros, MS Office suite, Visio, SharePoint, DB2 databases, other PC database tools, other PC development languages.
- Experience with other reporting and data analysis tools such as Cognos and/or SSAS. OpenSpan automation development
- Minimum three (3) to five (5) years related experience preferred.
