Position
We require a technically hands-on member to work closely with a focused development team, enhancing a mobile platform securely extending our enterprise wide solutions to iOS devices (iPhones and iPads).
The role will require full participation and leadership through the entire product cycle from requirements definition to user interface design, security, communications, unit testing, and performance testing.
This role will require frequent collaboration with other teams, local and remote, and working closely with other key team members (project managers, architects, developers and business analysts, testing, and our clients). Your previous experience will be used to assist, guide, support and technical advice wherever necessary, through the end-to-end delivery of solutions. More specifically, there will be an expectation for you to play a pivotal role in the implementation of the solution architecture, understanding and recognising the impacts of the solution to other systems in a highly integrated environment, and ensure that the solution is light weight and completely secure.
Main duties will include:
- Hands-on development of all apps in Objective-C (not Swift)
- Provide support, guidance and technical advice whenever necessary
- Be creative in providing new ideas and potential technical solutions to known business problems
- Apply your understanding popular open source packages (AFNetworking, for example) to our requirements to leverage pre-developed code to speed time to market.
The Candidate
You will be highly motivated and passionate about technology and its ability to solve business problems. You will have a minimum of 5 years commercial experience of development with iOS and web technologies. In addition, you will have demonstrated a high level of skill and ability towards IT/software solutions architecture. You will be working in a high-impact, high-stress, high performance position in the organization.
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- Minimum 4 year degree in a computer science field
- Objective-C development experience (at least 3 years)
- iOS App Development experience (at least 3 years) with a focus on UIKit classes UITableView, UITextView, UIScrollView, UIApplication, UIViewController, Framework classes NSNotification, NSArray, NSDictionary, NSString, etc.
- Experience creating user interfaces targeting multiple device sizes in a single universal app leveraging Interface Builder, Story Boards, and direct creation of UI classes in Objective-C code.
- Experience working with foreground and background threads via Grand Central Dispatch, NSThread, etc.
- Experience working with server based information delivered via restful/JSON services.
- Experience working in a team setting with multiple developers sharing code and modules through enterprise source code management systems.
Although not essential, it would be advantageous for you to have:
- Experience with Core Data, Core Location,
- Experience delivering Enterprise/Internal corporate apps
- Experience developing thin client web and web services enterprise applications
Experience in both Agile Scrum and Waterfall development environments
