only a man who just came from space will think of investing in Cameroun.
I have got friends who left China to invest in Cameroun and ended up paying
only taxes to the state, from one paper to another. Now if you talk anything business
and call Cameroun around them they will see you as a scammer.
THE TRUTH ONLY MEAN SOMETHING IF THE PERSON
LISTENING TO IT UNDERSTANDS IT.

Did you say someone passed out? I hope not. I was there for about three hours and I would not be surprised that anyone decided to "pass out". The whole event was a very boring cacophony of selected individuals amplifying stale Cameroon Government "Talking Points" on the advantages of "Doing Business in Cameroon".
Asked about the in-comprehensive Tax Codes, the hostile Political environment, the cumbersome regulatory business climate, the Top-Down French Business approach, the dreaded and non business friendly Customs Tariffs disparate application of CEMAC Regulations and much more; the panelist of "Experts" as usual lampooned their unsuspecting audience with undeserved platitudes: WUNA JUST GO BACK 4 KONTRI GO TRY. BUSINESS NO EASY. YOU GUYS SHOULD STOP THESE YOUR CRY-BABY FOOLISH COMPLAINTS. WUNA GO INVEST FOR ELECTRICITY. WUNA GO OPEN WUNA OWN BANK. WUNA DO JOIN-VENTURE. MAKE WUNA GO WORK FARMS. MONEY DEY PAYE. YOU SEE DAT MAMMIE 4 BACK HALL DEY, IH DEY SELL MERECINE AND MEDICAL EQUIPMENT. GO AND ASK HER HOW SHE DOES IT. WE GO HELEP WUNA. I GET MONEY 4 MY PG COUNTY OFFICE 4 GEEP WUNA. WUNA WRAT BETTER BUSINESS PLAN KAM GEEP ME..bla bla bla.
The advantage this Forum offered was discovering that Cameroon has a "Chamber of Commerce" (doing what?) right here in Takoma Park, Maryland headed by a certain Mukete (who by the way spoke very well). Asked how they were funded: the guy retorted "Dat is a very good and important question. The Cameroon Embassy knows that we are here in Silver Spring Maryland and we are asking all Diaspora Businesses to come and join us. Kamalloon Na We Kontri We All. Man go do how? Some man na Ngrung beep? Wuna Kam. We go do Business".
I will personally praise Chief John Mbah and his CamRoyals Society for this laudable initiative (the ulterior motives not withstanding); but for a first try, it is worth giving praise where one is due. He brought in personalities like Montgomery County Chair Ike Legett, PG County Representative, MD Senator Bin Cardin's representative, DC Mayor's Representative on African Affairs and many more. Mr. Mbah will be recognized as a very good Community Organizer if he can put aside his personal parochial tendencies and unnecessary excitement. Unfortunately, attendance was probably below expectation due to the numerous Cameroonian events taking place simultaneously in the DMV that same day especially the wake of late Minister/Senator Pa Nkwain (which practically pulled a mammoth crowd to Upper Marlboro) and place don dey cold too much 4 evening time.. In conclusion, the "Economic Forum" was a good start and hopefully next time, corrections will be made. Kudos to Chief Mbah and CamRoyals. This is not a criticism at all. It is simply an observation. What ever way you view it, it is my personal call.
Ta Mfar Mishe Fon NB: It was nice meeting once again Mr. Boniface Wewe Ndemping from New York; whose presentation depicted an individual with full Cultural mastery of the ten Provinces of Cameroon. I unfortunately left without buying his book BUT I will (as usual).

Sesekou Ebini, I do not know how far this is true, I heard some disturbing news about one young Cameroonian musician having had a stroke late yesterday. It's DJ Moma of the ACCDF who told me yesterday just before I gave a speech at the Economic and Cultural Festival event in downtown Silver Spring. Do you have any clue? I hope its one of those rumors.
