Wonderful analysis. These are the symptoms of our ill-
implementation. Let us introspect:
1.
As a teacher, what is my theory engagement targets?
2.
Do I go for lesson planning? Do I distribute the complete schedule
of my subject activities, including list of references, journals,
etc., for the entire Semester on the first day of opening the
institute?
3.
Do I conduct all practicals in Lab? What is about my lab-target?
4.
Do I refer to the latest developments while teaching theory/
practicals?
5.
What is the approach of regulatory authorities? Do I use their
failure as an excuse to justify my performance?
6.
Do I periodically interact with students, peers, management,
industry and researchers?
7.
What is about my membership of professional bodies, save, ISTE?
and so on and so fourth.
These are the simple strategic considerations but vital for quality
education. Quality is free and built in due to process I adapt.
Employ-ability is one of the outcomes of such a quality but not the
only indicator for quality education.

Swatch Bharat has lot of things to clear here too.
The corrupt system first breeds:
shortage of quality faculty, high student-teacher ratios.This

driven by further negative factors like out-dated curricula.Then

waste of valuable time for both.
Despite these situations, small proportion of Indian graduates are
considered employable, even attracting near a Crore of Rupees per
anum package; this
can happen only in India.
Global relevance and competitivenessmay be beyond the reach of Ph.D
students, as we have studied through another thread on this platform
and shovedthe
issue under the rug already by closing further discussions.

While the Indian higher education system has made considerable
progress in terms of capacity
creation and enrolment in the last decade, it lags significantly in
terms of global relevance and competitiveness, according to a study
by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, or
FICCI, and Ernst & Young, writes M Saraswathy forBusiness
Standard.
The report released at the FICCI Higher Education Summit said that
low employability of graduates is driven by factors like out-dated
curricula, shortage of quality
faculty, high student-teacher ratios, lack of institutional and
industry linkages and lack of autonomy to introduce new and
innovative courses.
“Only a small proportion of Indian graduates are
considered employable. This reflects in the fact that placement
outcomes drop significantly as we move away from
top tier institutions,†said the report. It added that
this resulted in the closing down of lower-rung institutions that
are not able to deliver high-quality outcomes.
