Information Architect Role

 

In developing this new CMO experience, the Information Architect will be responsible for providing guidance on the overall user experience, including layout, navigation and flow. This person will design, lead, and analyze end user needs and leverage the findings into site architecture and wireframes. He/she will also work with the team to develop the Business Requirements document for the section.  The IA will collaborate closely with the Digital Properties team, the Customer Solutions team, a designer, and developers to create the best possible user interactions and task flows while working within technology constraints and branding guidelines.

 

 

Key Deliverables/Responsibilities:

 

    Develop user experience brief & guiding principles

    Develop concept sketches, wireframes, flow diagrams, and sitemap

    Develop scenarios and use cases

    Work closely with development team to make sure that the information architecture is achievable within project scope and schedule and that it reflects current technology platform constraints

    Create navigational models that are aligned with the defined user experience and business requirements

    Create wireframes that illustrate site layout, navigation, controls, and content prioritization

    Collaborate with designer on design layer and provide input from an information architecture perspective

 

Skills

 

    Creativity and imagination

    Exceptional communicator and collaborator (especially with cross-functional teams)

    Strong presentation and negotiation skills

    Ability to understand customer needs, motivations and behaviors and translate them into engaging digital experiences

    Ability to communicate visually (i.e. sketching high-level concepts, and drawing on the fly to articulate and validate ideas with internal project partners)

    Ability to quickly understand the larger context in which the project is happening

    Ability to design a solution that finds a balance between technical feasibility and the best in customer experience

    Self-directed with highly developed organizational skills including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

 

Experience

 

    5+ years of professional experience as an Information Architect, User Experience Architect, or Interaction Designer or a similar role

    Extensive experience in information design and user scenarios

    Experience with business to business clients preferred
