Title: SQL Developer

Location: Philadelphia, PA

Duration: 6+ Months

Interview Process: Phone followed by a F2F

 

Note: No OPT'S & EAD's

 

Mandatory Skills: SQL Server (should know well), Excel (should know well)

 

Description:

At a high level we'd like to have a candidate who is a little more on the technical side than on the finance/business end (70-30 split).

 

Technical skills at a high level:  SQL Server (should know well), Excel (should know well),

SQL code writing – ability to understand moderately difficult code for stored procedures and select queries that extract information.

Sub querying (code within the code).  

Example highlighted below:

SELECT id, first_name

FROM student_details

WHERE first_name IN (SELECT first_name

FROM student_details

WHERE subject= 'Science')

Outer, inner joins

Unions – Union and Union All

Aggregate functions such as Count, Sum, Average

Excel modeling – being able to step into Excel models and make updates/changes as needed

Formulas include: Sumifs, Countifs, Vlookup, nested formulas, Min, Max and normalization of dates using Text.

Data integrity cannot be understated in our world.  Our audience picks up on everything so formulas need to be tested and validated.

Embedded SQL coding within Excel.

Fully automated modeling with limited manual inputting.

Finance/Business knowledge

Compliance environment experience (or comparable environment) – flow charts, wire frame process flows and strict adherence to guidelines is essential.

Cursory knowledge of finance (nothing too great here) – credit adjustments, inventory/COGS, P&L, margin analysis on products.

Personality traits:  Detailed, fast moving and adaptive to rapid changes, organized, enjoys research and problem solving

 

 

Nice to Have:

 

Teradata (nice to have), Tableau (nice to have), SSRS (not necessary, but nice to have too).
