Position: QA Lead (Manual)
Location: American Fork, UT
Duration: 6+ Month Contract
QA Lead Job Description
Position Responsibilities/Tasks (List Primary Responsibilities or Attach Job Description):
· Daily management of Quality Assurance activities, leading at least 1 other QA Engineer under the direction of the QA Manager
· Develop and Maintain master and release test plans including estimation of testing efforts
· Write automated acceptance tests from requirement criteria.
· Assist Automation team with integrating all automation into the continuous integration pipeline for repeatable and testable deployments
· Lead proper QA implementation within the product development life cycle in an Agile environment
· Assist in or write requirements (use cases and user stories)
· Communicate testing progress, trends and quality to product team regularly
· Lead the management of manual test executions and defects
· Create and Manage deployment pipeline including deployment procedures and release notes
· Lead the management of UAT planning, scheduling and results measurements
· Perform Integration, System, Security, Performance, White and Black Box Functional testing
· Create automated testing tools where appropriate for more repeatable and consistent manual testing
· Work closely with product management, designers and developers to ensure successful implementation of requirements.
· Collaborate with peer QA engineers to establish a clear testing strategy
· Track issues and ensure bugs are being addressed and prioritized
· Execute test plan, strategy via test cases and other methods of testing against variety of consumer electronic devices (mobile and not)
· Position Requirements/Qualifications (List Essential Knowledge and Skills, Includes Experience and Education Requirements):
· Bachelor degree in computer science, or equivalent professional experience.
· 5+ years in Software Development Quality Assurance
· 3+ years in Web Application and Mobile Device Automation Testing is a plus
· Proficient in software development life cycle and QA?s involvement
· Contribute to the development team prior, during and post development regarding processes, best practices, technology and areas of expertise
· Able to test the requirements in order to ensure quality is built in
· Evaluate and troubleshoot complex requirements and issues using multiple sources of information
· Able to clearly document and communicate issues and processes
· Respectfully provide input on areas for improvement in the SDLC, requirements, or otherwise
· Analyze data (metrics) and present to team where appropriate for better decision making.
· Experience in continuous integration tools and processes
· Able to read code, analyze and troubleshoot logs for deep debugging and root cause analysis
· Able to determine what should be automated and what shouldn?t be in order to create a healthy balance between manual and automation regression maintenance
· Knowledge of Android, iOS, HTML, Linux, OS X, and Windows
· Experience with scripting languages JavaScript, Python, Ruby, Perl, Java etc?
· Strong experience and passion for Agile Software Development environment and supporting the successful adherence to such methodologies.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
